My name is Georgi Kraev, I am a theatre professional based in Bulgaria, working mainly with applied and social theatre, focused on community work, youth engagement and personal expression.

I am writing to you in relation to an international project application under the Creative Europe programme (Culture Moves Europe – Individual Mobility). As part of this programme, I am preparing a 21-day mobility project in French Guiana, and I am currently looking for a local organisation with whom the project could be meaningfully developed and implemented.

The project is fully financed through Creative Europe, which means that all travel and living expenses are covered by the programme, and no financial support would be required from your organisation.

In terms of content, the project is conceived as a social theatre process, combining workshops and practical theatre activities. The focus is not on creating a traditional performance, but on using theatre as a tool for expression, confidence, dialogue and participation, particularly in a community and youth context.

At the same time, I am genuinely interested in getting to know and understanding the local culture of French Guiana. As this is a place that is geographically and culturally very distant from my own background, I see this project as an exchange — one based on listening, learning and adapting my theatre practice to the local realities, together with a hosting partner.

For this reason, I prefer not to describe the full concept in writing at this stage, as the project is intentionally designed to be co-developed with the hosting organisation, in line with its experience, values and the communities it works with.

My reason for reaching out is simply to explore whether this artistic and social direction could be of interest to you. If so, I would be very happy to share more details and discuss the project further.
